From her early cyanotype and mixed-media photographic works to later photographs depicting abstract architectural spaces, Barbara Kasten examines the spatial relationships between light, abstraction, and form.

While designing this catalogue of Barbara Kasten, I wanted to make sure I was paying homage to the content in a balanced way. I achieved this by sampling color from her artwork of the era and using those colors alongside the work. Slowly as her work progresses, so does the design. Finding the balance between information and visuals is a difficult task, but these tones complement the artwork without adding or subtracting attention where unnecessary.
